Councilman Ignacio Tornel IU-V today called on the mayor of Murcia reviewing concessions to catering establishments installing terraces occupying greenery in our capital.
Tornel affects this issue from the debate that arose in the last full council during a motion of IU-V on the Malecon garden use for improper activities of a green public.
"We are concerned about the size that have achieved some establishments located in areas of public gardens, which go beyond the concept of kiosks and have become local food and drinks, something for which they should not be used a public garden."
Tornel stresses drift of some of these facilities, which are no longer simple kiosks to serve drinks to becoming rooms and holiday celebrations, "something that is not designed as a public space is a garden."
This is the case of the facilities and the Malecon Garden of Fame.
According to IU-V, "Gardens Murcia are not places to promote private activities for profit, so these licenses must be reviewed in accordance with the law."
"To Tornel problem is twofold: to authorize the use of gardens for improper activities and invade flowerbeds in public."
In the latter, the rejection of the neighbors directly affected has been made manifest.
"It is the case of establishments that have installed terrace, even certain types of soil, occupying public beds, as head of Torres, Constable Street in the capital or in the old square in Vistalegre Truth."
"We will reclaim Camera clarification of these authorizations and, where appropriate, a performance on his part to return the green spaces that citizens have with their taxes."
