Murcia City Council, through the Department of Political Equality and Development Cooperation, continues to work with the municipality NGOs working in Latin America and Caribbean, North Africa or West Africa, and contribute to sustainable human development of populations improving the living conditions of its people and meeting their basic needs.
Specifically, project grants Manos Unidas (Choquehuanca-Peru), Covide (Cochabamba, Bolivia), Blue in Action (Togo), and Youth Development Foundation (Togo), Mullion Foundation (Carazo, Nicaragua), Caritas granted Murcia (El Alto, Bolivia), Community Development Institute (Ivory Coast), Karit Solidarity for Peace (Timor Leste), Psychosocial Intervanción Diagram (Senegal) Foundation, the Education Development Assistance (Ivory Coast), Solidarity, and Education Development (Bolivia), Assembly of Cooperation for Peace (Chimaltenango, Guatemala), Foundation for the Development of Nursing (Monte Plata, Dominican Republic) and Vicente Ferrer Foundation (India).
These cooperation projects contribute to the achievement of the Millennium Development Goals, particularly in the areas of health, education, human rights: social services and social, productive promotion insfraestructuras and environment, governance, women's empowerment and combating hunger.
