Pedro López regrets not solve the problems of the districts, is unsustainable economically, does not include the burial, punishes the pockets of citizens and done in haste without consensus and agreement when public transport is one of the main problems in the municipality
PSOE spokesman, Pedro López, today provided a press conference at the bus stop in La Glorieta to explain the reasons why the Socialist Group voted today at the General Affairs Committee against Urban Mobility Plan.
Thus, Lopez explained that does not solve the problem of the districts, and that one of the conclusions of this plan is to seek understanding between Camera and Valcárcel and time has shown that public transport in the town is a disaster because neither Council nor Autonomous Community have been able to understand.
"Clearly, the people who live in villages only have public transport when they deserve a mayor who understands that they are also part of Murcia and really fight for decent public transport for all," said Socialist spokesman.
Also, Lopez has claimed that the project is economically unsustainable.
"Convert the tram into the backbone of public transport in the town means getting a mortgage for this City unsustainable because if you keep 18 km, it costs 11 million euros a year, expanding the network in more than 28 km would cost another € 17M, representing an unaffordable cost of € 30M a year when there are other cheaper means. "
Another reason why the Socialist Group voted against it because the plan does not address the main action that would revolutionize public transport in the town and that is none other than the burial.
"El Carmen station must be the reference point for trains and buses as it is raised as a major intermodal center and this plan does not spend anything more than a couple of paragraphs."
Lopez has also emphasized that the City Plan that punishes the pocket of citizens it wants to charge for use of the park and ride.
Finally, the Socialist spokesman regretted the haste with which the local PP has made this plan, presented last Friday and was approved Monday.
"It makes no sense that it took two years and two claims revolver in less than a week the whole plan is updated without consensus and agreement."
