The University of Murcia has distributed a total of 110,000 euros in social benefits that were convened by the Senate in order to alleviate the economic situation of students with fewer economic resources.
This amount has been allowed to help a total of 310 students, leaving another 173 on the waiting list and for which the educational institution continues its efforts in order to try to give them the same attention.
The figures have been exposed during the session of the Governing Council in which he reported on the dire financial situation that will face the University as a result of cuts suffered in recent years and for financial year 2014.
The meeting noted that the figures submitted by the region will represent a reduction of about seven million euros, representing a scenario in which the Budget 2014 would reach a figure of 176 million euros, representing a reduction of three percent.
The Governing Council, on the other hand, has approved cooperation agreements to be signed with various agencies and entities, as well as the internal rules of the residence of the University Farm.
