The Catholic University of Murcia held Friday morning in the first edition of the Day of Music Industry, attended by a dozen industry experts.
During the various presentations and panel discussions, several key music business is provided, from the history of the industry to the projection of the talent of the new generation or the multiple forms of funding that exist.
The first open day was José María Camera, managing partner of SOM 2011 and former president of Sony Music, BMG, RCA Ariola and in Spain and Portugal, with his paper 'The music is big business and always will be'.
In it, dissected the current situation of the music industry through its history, remembering important elements in its development as the Internet, Napster or the birth of the compact disc.
He highlighted the generational stopper as one of the major obstacles is in the record industry, apart from piracy.

After the outgoing conference José María House, which was attended by about 250 students of the UCAM, have started the round tables, which have been addressed industry-related issues, such as the discovery and promotion of new artists and the projection of the artistic and entrepreneurial talents in the music industry.
This roundtable participated Juan Albaladejo, manage Creajoven, Angel Carrillo, coordinator of the Symphony Orchestra of the UCAM Claudia Orellana, president of the Institute of Artistic Expression Southeast, and José Manuel Navarro, director Festival del Cante de las Minas.
Later the second roundtable took place, in which new forms of financing in the music industry were addressed.
The crowfunding or patronage were among the topics discussed by experts as Kurro Diaz, founder of 'montatuconcierto.com'; Tonny Serrano, digital and networking in SonBuenos manager, Joaquin Ruiz, coordinator of the Low Cost Festival, and Germán Meoro, composer and singer.
Once all committee meetings held, the day ended with the presence of Juan Antonio Lorca Sánchez, director of the Institute for Cultural Industries and the Arts of the CARM, who stressed the importance of holding such forums discussion to address the problems of the music industry.
