A doctoral thesis at the University of Murcia for Perni Angel Llorente claims of public authorities more protection and valuation of water ecosystems, which, well, are responding to a growing social demand.
This research, conducted at the Faculty of Biology of the University, also notes that water managers should be aware of the value of this resource not only for the applications that are usually intended, but also for the benefits that contributes the improvement and conservation of water ecosystems.
The dissertation takes a few case studies, as indicated therein, are a good example of the positive potential of the commitment that conservation policy.
The study also states that the government should not forget the indirect benefit derived from a conservation policy and environmental protection.
The dissertation, which has obtained excellent cum laude, was led by professors from the University of Murcia Federico Martinez-Carrasco and José Miguel Martínez.
