The website of the City of Murcia is valuable and trusted for more than half of respondents in the doctoral thesis of María del Carmen López Soler, who has analyzed the quality and performance of this website.
To carry out their study, which has obtained excellent cum laude, the author has interviewed more than 200 people, preferably resident in the town of Murcia, with a medium / high level of computer and connect daily to Internet.
Among the sample data, the majority of respondents said that the city offers general quality services through the web, it also provides enough quality information on topics such as culture and tourism.
Up to 70% would visit and / or recommend the page, which state that belongs to a credible and responsible institution.
By contrast, for the same percentage of respondents not easily found the content or services they wanted, anywhere they were poorly organized and was attractive and pleasant walking.
Also, most asked that it lacked a clear and easy list of services offered, as well as the navigation found it complex or were lost at some point in the same, reaching 40% of those who claim that they found the information expected to find.
The thesis, which was directed by Professor of the University of Murcia Antonio linen, constructs a model for assessing the quality and performance of e-Government (e-government) and its development in web sites.
In conclusion, the study finds that the elements of quality accessibility, security, content and level of public services and their level of interaction with citizens positively affect the performance of the web site e-Government.
In contrast, navigability, empathy and reputation of the web and the institution is not as important and influential on user satisfaction citizens of e-government services elements.
Moreover, the work does not indicate a clear relationship between the effort made in e-government actions and the opinion of respondents on governance.
