Murcia City Council has renewed its partnership agreements with two associations and federation working in the area of ​​disability in the municipality of Murcia.
The total amount of these grants totaling € 19,000.
The collaboration that will continue to provide the city of Murcia is going to be done with the following entities:
Association for People with Down Syndrome, ASSIDO.
This entity pursues the objective of improving the quality of life of people affected by this syndrome and other intellectual disabilities, in order to achieve full social and family integration, maximizing personal skills and thereby facilitate a life Normalized as possible.
ASSIDO serving 340 users in the municipality of Murcia and nearby villages that do not have specialized services.
Currently has three centers:
- Treatment Center for children and youth with Down syndrome and other Intellectual Disabilities 0-16 years.
- Center of Vocational and transition to adulthood of young people with Down Syndrome and Intellectual Disability from 16.
- Occupational Center for youth and adults with Down syndrome and other Intellectual Disabilities.
Since 1999, the Social Welfare Department of the City of Murcia has provided support and collaboration to this entity, through interviews and telephone contacts, the grants, the transfer of land or the signature of various collaboration agreements, among other actions.
With the title "Towards Independence.
The autonomy of the person with Down Syndrome and Intellectual Disability "ASSIDO involved with this new cooperation agreement, the development of a set of actions that target both direct beneficiaries, ie 145 users with Down syndrome and / or Disabilities Intellectual aged between 5 and 18 years enrolled in mainstream primary and secondary education, as indirect beneficiaries, ie the families of the direct beneficiaries, the remaining ASSIDO users and society in general.
Association of Paraplegic and Physically Handicapped of the Autonomous Community of the Region of Murcia, ASPAYM-MURCIA.
Represents the group of spinal cord injuries and other physical disabilities large Murcia in order to contribute to improving their quality of life, enhancing skills for greater personal autonomy and promote full employment and social integration of people with disabilities, through their care, cultural promotion and comprehensive training.
From the year 1999 to carry out its purposes, working in collaboration with the Social Welfare Department of the City of Murcia, given the interest of this administration to support the collective associations of people with disabilities by providing grants and signing cooperation agreements that ensure the continuity of the activities carried out.
For this new agreement have a work program comprising five performances: Service Information, advice and guidance to people with disabilities and their families counseling service; Conferences, workshops and courses, volunteering and service awareness and prevention campaigns.
The main objectives sought with these programs are:
- Advise, inform and guide all those who in one way or another are related to spinal cord injury service aimed at the general population, and more specifically to people with disabilities and families.
- To prevent and raise awareness of risk of the security measures to be taken in advance to prevent spinal injuries.
- Raise awareness and educate the general population about the people with social difficulties, to strengthen the mechanisms for their employment.
- Ensuring improvements in social and health benefits, and adequate health care.
Murcianas Associations Federation of Persons with Physical and Organic FAMDIF / COCEMFE.
This entity represents, supports and advises those associations of people with physical and / or organic federated Murcia and legally constituted.
Promote activities to achieve real equality of this group with the other citizens, so as to respect the principle of equality through benefits and services that cater to the plaintiff in such diverse areas as the personal, familial, social, educational or labor.
To give effect to this right, the Social Welfare Department of the City of Murcia has been working with this organization since 1995, through interviews and telephone contacts, the grants, the provision of premises or the signing of various agreements collaboration, among other actions.
With this new agreement this administration intends to cooperate with the implementation of a performance that has been subsidizing years in the past: "Care Project, Social Awareness, Development and Volunteer Participation", in order to raise awareness, awareness and awareness of society about the physical and / or organic, using implicit information dissemination of this group, coordinating the federation relationship with the local media, regional and state levels.
Among the activities to be carried out are: information and advice service, Volunteer, Awareness for schoolchildren; awareness aimed at students of Secondary Education and Vocational Training, sensitization and awareness aimed at university society aimed at Murcia.
Direct users of the project are 4,410 about 60 volunteers who participate in various activities planned, 200 primary school students attending the closing of the School Awareness Campaign, 200 children of primary centers, 300 secondary students, 350 students university to participate in lectures given in different Universities of Murcia, 1000 people expected to participate in the activities of general awareness and 500 persons involved in the circuit of architectural barriers.
