The University of Murcia exterior lighting optimizes their campuses (11/11/2013)

The Vice President for Business and Infrastructure, through the Department of Technical Unit has undertaken a review of the exterior lighting of campus lighting to optimize and adapt it to the needs of users.

Specifically, we eliminated blackheads, dark areas in places frequented-and off streetlights in locations without transit.

Since the beginning of Austerity Plan in 2009, the institution has permanently reduced exterior lighting all campuses in third, while two-thirds off the road luminaires Espinardo campus at night.

With this measure, in addition to saving electricity, the University of Murcia prevents light pollution taking into account the recommendations of the Dark Sky campaign.
