The Department of Safety and Social Welfare are going to start a campaign, before the entry into force of the Ordinance to Fight Prostitution in the Municipality of Murcia, focused directly to the people involved in prostitution.
The aim is to provide all the information regarding this new regulation and the resources offered by the City to help these people who, in many cases, are forced into prostitution.
So Semes members (Mobile Emergency Service and Social Care) and local police officers among prostitutes distributed a brochure which includes all municipal aid measures with places to turn to, the address and telephone.
This booklet has been published in Spanish, Romanian, Arabic, French and Russian.
The new ordinance, which will come into force on the 9th, will affect all people, including children, to make the spaces mentioned in any of the acts described as violations of the Ordinance:
- To offer paid sexual services.
- Solicit, negotiate or accept persons seeking sexual services in exchange for payment.
- Having sex with retribution for them.
- Engaging in outreach and publicity to promote consumption and the market of prostitution and exploitation and sex tourism.
- The consumption behaviors favoring prostitution or other forms of sexual exploitation, as approaching clients to places where the persons in prostitution.
These behaviors are compounded when taken within 300 meters of schools, education and other areas with large crowds child and / or youth, as well as venues of any other public event with large numbers of people.
Penalties can be up to 3,000 euros
For juvenile offenders, demanding sexual services, you can swap the first sanction alternatives firm, whose performance will be voluntary.
