The Department of the Technical Unit of the University of Murcia develops a pioneering recycling project in the region posed by the collection of organic material and reuse as fertilizer on college campuses.
Be collected organic waste generated in cafeterias and dining halls, and then treat them in a plant composter, which will later reuse as fertilizer on agricultural land organically grown Espinardo campus.
To achieve optimal conditions in the composting process, it will also include the contribution of plant residues from maintenance of landscaping on campus.
The initiative, which, while taking advantage of waste, aims to promote the culture of recycling among the university community, will start next academic year in the dining room of the Social Centre, you will be the pilot.
