The lack of physical contact with the seller contributes to distrust of the consumer when making purchases over the Internet, according to one of the conclusions of the doctoral thesis at the Faculty of Economics and Business, University of Murcia by Maria Isabel Pascual del Riquelme Martinez.
This research notes that "little opportunity for personal interaction with vendors, which characterizes the online shopping environment, are revealed as an important factor in explaining this kind of mistrust Internet consumer ethics".
The thesis indicates that another factor that influences the time to consider shopping for this method is the fear of being cheated.
The study, which examines the ethical aspects of e-commerce from the perspective of consumers, was led by Professor of the University of Murcia Sergio Manuel Román Nicholas.
