Marta Garaulet Aza, Professor of Physiology, University of Murcia, receive next Monday, October 14, in Madrid, Doctor Marañón Award in 2012 for best scientist in the field of nutrition.
Professor at the University of Murcia has been recognized by the Royal Academy of Gastronomy, which awards the prize, thanks to his scientific career in the field of obesity, chronobiology and nutrigenetics.
His publications include the books "Lose Weight Without Losing Your Mind", "Obesity: Causes and Consequences", "535 recipes to lose weight eating" and "Children eat".
After his stint at Tufts University (Boston, USA) and his collaboration with Dr. Jose Maria Ordovas, began the study of a science as novel as it is nutrigenetics.
Today, is a visiting professor at Harvard University, where his research is focused on the relationship between sleep, biological rhythms and obesity.
Garaulet joins the list of great personalities from Spanish nutrition who have received this award, which includes names like Francisco Grande Covián, Gregorio Varela, José Mataix or Valentin Fuster.
