The City of Murcia, in collaboration with the UCAM, Mobisec project launches, which aims to allow local technicians know the busiest road cyclists to develop actions that make it safer circulation.
The profile of volunteers priority must be to regular cyclists who travel to work, school or university by bicycle, in the municipality of Murcia, and who have a smartphone with GPS.
During the month of September will be the enrollment phase will begin in October and experience, which will end in May 2014.
The UCAM has been responsible for technological development, consisting of a free application for smartphones (Android, iPhone, iPad and BlackBerry) and a website through which volunteers can access their routes as well as personal and interesting statistics rankings, and participants can win prizes related to road safety and sport.
MOBISEC Murcia, has the support of major cycling associations-Murcia and Bicimur-Bike and Cycling Federation of Murcia, the Local Youth Council of Murcia and Cycling Local Shops Township.
MOBISEC intended to be a collaborative experience between civil society, public administration, the university and the company, in the field of ICT applied to traffic management and rationalization of municipal investments destined for the same.
MOBISEC is 50% financed by the Directorate General of Transport of the European Commission, which has been very interested in traffic management technologies and urban mobility.
The project is part MOBISEC Murcia MOBISEC 2012-2014 project, led by Murcia and involving Varna (Bulgaria) and Oldham (United Kingdom).
