San Antonio Catholic University of Murcia hosts these days about a dozen students from Indonesia and Malaysia as part of an intensive summer program for the teaching of Spanish and culture of our country.
Among the activities apart from their own grammar, are flamenco knowledge of our cinema and our music, among other disciplines.
For eighteen days, students from Southeast Asia know our customs and part of the culture and history of Spain in the context of the International Summer Program, a course that holds the UCAM to promote the use and teaching of our language as part of the vocation that has to cooperate internationally with other universities worldwide.
Students begin the day at nine o'clock to learn grammar and practical exercises that bring them closer to understanding Spanish.
These cases are combined with certain cultural materials for students to know about the film and the music of Spain.
Among other disciplines, students also take classes in flamenco and Latin rhythms like salsa in the UCAM Sports Center.
In addition, some sites in the Region of Murcia will be visited by the first group of students from Southeast Asia which hosts the University, such as the city of Cartagena, the Mar Menor and Calblanque Park.
This initiative falls within the international arrangement takes the UCAM and in recent weeks has led to the signing of certain agreements with several universities in Southeast Asia, aimed at integration between training and sport, and also to the promotion of learning of Spanish among students of these institutions.
