The Socialist Party councilor, Susana Hernandez has requested an explanation from the head of the Environment, Adela Martinez Cachá, after seeing the images broadcast by digital means dozens of bicycles municipal rental service stored in a garage in the Local Agency Energy.
"It is outrageous, this is the real way the city government committed to bicycle", criticized the PSOE mayor.
"It seems incredible that the city who chairs the Spanish Cities Network by bike in this embarrassment. Carry many years saying that everything that is done with this topic is for show and no real commitment to cycling as transportation although Murcia has excellent conditions, "says Hernandez.
For the Socialist councilor, "No pictures are worth a thousand words and bicycles stored, must be added that of a bike path that ends in a patch at the junction of the South Coast with ALGEZARES road".
This summer, the PSOE councilor continues, have known a study of the OCU Consumers Organization that puts tail Murcia road safety for cyclists, which for Hernandez "confirms that in our town riding a bike is risk activity ".
The same study highlights the PSOE mayor, puts Zaragoza, Sevilla and San Sebastian as Spain's best cities for cycling.
"Three municipalities where mayors by socialist policies bicycle became a useful means of transport and efficient to navigate the city with rental systems and a good network of bike lanes," says Hernandez.
"If the mayor Martinez-Cache is unable to do this in Murcia, we offer to put you in touch with our fellow party which have been shown how to bet on the bike," concludes the PSOE councilor.
