Between 9 and September 26 will be two of the most veteran of the University of Mar-Campus Mare Nostrum: Scientific Diving courses and Art and Science of Navigation, both to be held in Cartagena.
Fernando Patricio Martin Paz, Director of the Navy Diving and María del Carmen González Castillo, Technical Manager and Underwater Water Activities of the Autonomous Community of the Region of Murcia are the directors of Scientific Diving course, which, with 30 editions , is the oldest activity between summer courses organized by the University of Murcia.
It aims to introduce students to diving, enabling them to perform dives up to 30 meters deep.
The course includes both theoretical and practical aspects, including topics such as physiology applied to diving, first aid, search and rescue theory, applied physics diving or decompression theory.
It also includes practical diving pool and open water dives carried deeper gradually to reach 30 meters.
Students may visit the Submarine Base and Submarine Archaeological Museum.
Art and science of navigation
On the other hand, is celebrating the XXI edition of the course of Art and Science of Navigation, also directed by Fernando Patricio Martin and Maria del Carmen Gonzalez, who tries to explain to his students the theoretical and practical aspects of navigation training them at the same time, to skipper boats.
Both courses have a duration of 120 hours, and students who enroll in them shall be entitled to a total of 4.5 elective credits or 3 ECTS-CRAU.
