The Governing Council has given the green light to a grant of 24,000 euros from the Ministry of Health and Social Policy to develop the intervention project sign language interpreters in the classroom at the University of Murcia (UMU).
The aim is to facilitate access and the means or resources requiring those who suffer hearing impairment to facilitate their integration into the university community of the region.
This seeks to ensure real equality of opportunity in relation to the other members of that community.
Thus, supporting the teaching-learning process with qualified professionals as Senior Technical Sign Language Interpreter, protects the right of university students with special educational needs arising from hearing deficits and enables access to higher education and to workplace.
