The emotional support and satisfaction in the relationship of young people with their parents pose a lower risk of verbal aggression toward peers, according to one of the conclusions of the doctoral thesis at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Murcia by Elena Sanchez Hernandez .
To conduct this research, which has obtained excellent cum laude, the author analyzed a sample consisting of 2,389 students from 28 secondary schools (ESO) of the Region of Murcia.
The results indicate that "physical and verbal aggression with the parent and having witnessed such aggression between parents is associated with an increased risk of physical aggression."
By contrast, emotional support and confidentiality are associated with a lower risk of verbal aggression.
In this danger also influence social relations and contemplation of television and video and computer use.
The dissertation was supervised by professors from the University of Murcia Alberto Manuel Torres and Miriam Mońino and professor at the University Miguel Hernández de Elche Jose Juan Lopez.
