The University of Murcia has undertaken a project to rehabilitate the thermal insulation of the Faculty of Biology, Espinardo campus, consisting of the replacement of the building's exterior glass for double glazing with.

The project, developed by the Department of the Technical Unit of the educational institution, is an improvement in energy efficiency with theoretical values ​​close to 45%.

Also, in the same building, the Department of the Technical Unit is refurbished one of the most emblematic of the University, the Laboratory-Museo José Loustau.
