Councilman Decentralization and Consumer Markets, Christopher Smith, met with representatives of market vendors, with whom he has formalized the establishment of a working group that will serve to enhance the activities of the sector.
The first such meeting was held with the Mayor, Miguel Angel House two weeks ago, in order to agree stimulus measures and support the sector.
Among the issues that have been addressed is the agreement of a management system for the collection of the tax, taking into account the suitability of the direct debit, monthly subscription receipts or improvements in payments fractionation procedure.
Also, the working table has valued mixed planning measures agreed to establish the rate of the fee for special use or private use of public roads, taking into account the cost of providing the service, the financial capacity of the taxpayer, the efforts of this group to reduce existing debt, their collaboration in the collection of waste in the markets and investments made to improve uniformity and aesthetics of the market stalls.
The work table is agreed that with respect to the current year, there will be a 50% increase compared to representing update the prevailing rate.
The translation of the future law on street vending Autonomous Community to municipal regulations, in addition to the participation of vendors in the preparation of future ordinances that affect them are other aspects which components work table, which is meet again in September.
