The Councillor for Social Welfare and Health, Maria del Carmen Pelegrin, has welcomed the small Sahrawi families spend their holidays in Murcia.

It is an initiative of Holidays in Peace, with the collaboration of the City Council for years, for children to stay away from the harsh conditions of the refugee camps in Tindouf (Algeria) and can enjoy the holidays as any child of his age.

This time 155 children will spend July and August in the Region of Murcia, of which 26 will be staying with host families in the municipality of Murcia.

'Holidays in Peace' is an initiative of Sahrawi children temporary shelter that has been developing since 1996.
