The Department of Urban Cleaning and Waste Management Cleaning has intensified blocks 3 and 4 at Santa Rita to prevent dust from accumulating dirt, as neighbors instead of throwing household trash and throw them to the container by the windows.
Urban Cleaning Councilman Jose Ros, and the Security council and Human Resources, Nuria Fuentes, have made this morning a visit to the area to see how to perform the cleanup.
Ros explained that so far thoroughly cleaned once a week and from now on will be done twice, Wednesday and Sunday.
It also indicates that cleaning operatives should be escorted by the local police, to prevent clashes with neighbors.
Also, it will launch an awareness campaign in collaboration with the Eastern District Board, directed by Rafael Gomez, and neighbors to try that residents in this area throw garbage in the containers, instead converting low their buildings in landfills.
Garbage accumulation brings influx of rodents, insects and birds, as well as odors, a situation that is difficult to solve if the neighbors continue throwing garbage out the window.
