Book clubs Social Centers Township Senior fired the course celebrating the 15th anniversary of its launch.
These clubs have been taking place since 1998, through a collaboration agreement between the city of Murcia and the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the Autonomous Community, also participate in voluntary organizations.
The closing ceremony will take place this afternoon, at 18 am in the Murcia Regional Archives (Avenue of the Pines).
The objectives of the club are to foster the habit of reading among the elderly, facilitating group lending of books, conduct creating book clubs Social Centres for the Elderly being sued and influence the social and individual improvement of older people, through the promotion of the cultural and educational activity.
Reading Clubs usually meet one day a week, with the participation of those older, CSM partners that are part of the same coordinated by a volunteer who performs tasks encourage reading, reading a work previously selected and provided by the Regional Library through collective license.
Currently the volunteers that are providing this service belong to three Associations.
The number of book clubs is twelve, having increased in the last year at three new clubs (La Alberca, S. Miguel and Santiago and Zaraíche), with a progressive increase in the same since its creation, existing demand for launch new clubs in other Senior Centers, it sometimes depending on the availability of volunteers to animate them.

- ACDOMUR: Fleet, Vistalegre, S.
Anton, S.
Andres S.
Antolin, Vistabella, Los Garres, La Cueva (Monteagudo), S.
Miguel, Santiago and Zaraíche.
- Foundation Friends of Reading: Bacons Bridge and La Alberca.
- Member Volunteer Senior Center Cabeza de Torres: Head of Torres.
The number of people involved in all the clubs Reading is about 130 plus volunteers to coordinate and streamline about 18 others.
