The Mayor, Miguel Angel House, spoke this afternoon at the opening of the XVII Meeting Alumni Spain 2013 that develops in Murcia until tomorrow.
House wanted to be present at the opening of this conference which brings together representatives of the Association of Alumni and Friends of the Spanish Universities and has taken the opportunity to also welcome them to the city, defending the "role" that is set to play the University in today's society to "face the future with assurance."
The Mayor has claimed the importance of having "a university efficient, agile and means to train the younger generation and to fulfill its responsibility as a catalyst for society."
In addition to the Mayor, participated in the inauguration the Rector of the University of Murcia, José Antonio Cobacho, the president of the Association of Alumni and Friends of the University of Murcia, Zamora Thomas, the president of the Federation of Alumni Associations and Friends of the Spanish Universities, the University Policy Director General of the Ministry of Education, Culture and Sports, and the Minister of Universities, Business and Research, José Ballesta.
