End of course for reading workshops Centers for Women (11/06/2013)

Over 200 women participated in the reading workshops performed in Centers for Women and women's associations in the municipality.

Yesterday was held the annual convention which has pooled the work done in each of the workshops during the course and has served for participants to meet and exchange experiences.

The event was held in the auditorium of the University of Murcia.

The activity is coordinated by volunteers

Foundation Friends of Reading, and the City Council held since 2002.

Councilmember Equality Policy and Development Cooperation, Alicia Waterman, who has participated in the event, stressed the important educational and cultural work of these workshops to read all kinds of literature and discover new authors.

Women's Centers, Senior Centers and Women associations have participated are: San Basilio, head of Torres, The Fame, Patino, The Fleet, Barriomar, La Paz, Xarrat, District Centre, Abenarabi, Association of Catholic Women, Santa María de Gracia, Carmen Conde, La Alberca, Monteagudo Housewives, Salzillo Widows Association, La Nora, James the Greater, Vistalegre, Santa Eulalia and the Arboleja.

They have been accompanied by members of Centers for Women of Orihuela, Lorquí, Cabo de Palos, La Manga, La Alcayna Cotillas Towers and Las Palas (Fuente Alamo).

Participants have read works by Pilar Eyre, Miguel Delibes, Sandor Marai, María Dueñas, José Luis Sampedro, Pedro García Montalvo, Miguel Hernández, Susanna Tamaro, García Márquez, Carmen Martín Gaite, Carmen Posadas, Gustave Flaubert, Italo Calvino, Miguel Mihura , Camilla Lackberg, Pilar Urbano and Juan Valera, among many others.
