The Socialist councilor Susana Hernandez claimed the conservation and enhancement of the Huerta de Murcia on the occasion of the celebration of World Environment Day.
"The PSOE defend our natural heritage as the backbone for the sustainable development of our town," says Hernandez.
The socialist mayor notes that "la Huerta is the main sign of identity of Murcia and must be understood as a major economic and tourist site that respects the environment, it is urgent to implement measures for the hydraulic heritage, including channels, canals, mills and ditches that make up the traditional irrigation network our Huerta ".
In his years in office, he continues, the PP has developed initiatives marketing testimonials and everything related to the environment, but the reality is that our Huerta has been lost due to the speculative urban model fueled by both the People's Party City and Community.
Finally, Hernandez notes that "far from rectifying these policies and to the halt in construction, now PP is endeavoring to punish the owners of orchards that were once classified as urban land one IBI charging them exorbitant".
