School Workshop "affordable Centre for youth, Phase II", the City of Murcia, begin today to restore the entire building exterior carpentry City Museum.
Participants of the Workshop School are students who receive basic training in subjects like math, language and computer, as well as specific job, in this case, painting, stucco and building finishes.
After two years receive a certificate of professionalism.
Five students of the second year, two women and three men, between 20 and 25 years, all in the municipality of Murcia, and their teacher, will be performing until late July at the Museum restoration.
The City Museum is located in the plaza of the Augustinian, a nineteenth century house, between the ditches and Caravija Aljufía which is, in turn, result in several different buildings reforms, the first Junterón Tower , XVI century.
Graphic image is preserved building built in the seventeenth century and in this, is inspired Museum logo.
Finally the main body of the house is still conserved, is the nineteenth century and has belonged, to be municipal property around 1993, the family Lopez-Ferrer.
In the back retains the Garden Chains, Hispanic-origin, watered by the canal Caravija and of great botanical interest.
It opened as a museum in 1999, two years after completion of the restoration of the old building with a body over three floors, added to the back of it.
The old building has a total 20 windows and a large entrance gate, all wood and classic style of the nineteenth century.
They are all in perfect condition on the inside, but outside, after 16 years since the last renovation, are badly deteriorated.
