The University of Murcia has signed the Rectorate Astrada an agreement with the Association for the Care of Persons with Autism and other Pervasive Developmental Disorders in the region, to the joint advisory activities, research, training or any other for the benefit of both parties.
The agreement will help the implementation of autism-related research and outreach programs and social awareness regarding this and other pervasive developmental disorders.
Also conducted training courses, as the conference to be held next November about autism treatments that are offering best result.
The agreement is powered by Professor of Psychology and Dean of Speech, Francisco Cabello, who spoke of the importance for the University to build bridges with society and approach their problems.
Astrada's president, Maria Soledad Guerrero, after thanking the University of Murcia for the signing of an agreement that covers the activities to be developed in the future between the two institutions, emphasized the "unstoppable rise in cases of autism" being recorded in recent years.
"This increase leads to civil society require help to improve the quality of life of people with autism spectrum disorders, and the University of Murcia in particular, cooperation in training and research," he said.
The rector, José Antonio Cobacho, expressed his joy at signing with an association that is "dumped" in the care of people with developmental disabilities and their families.
