The IU-Greens councilor José Ignacio Tornel considered "unnecessary and utterly dispensable" the agreement between the city of Murcia and the Royal Spanish Cycling Federation for his runners look the municipal logo on the uniform of the various national teams, due promotion of the city.
The total amount to pay our council to the Royal Federation over the next two years is 300,000 euros.
"As an investment dedicated to the promotion of the city, it seems that the logo is expensive to city coffers. Incidentally, this Convention has held for years without knowing in any successive renewals report justifying its profitability for municipal interests ".
It is also incomprehensible that this municipal investment not collect any aspect referred to sports exchanges between the Federation and the Sports Council.
"It is the realization of sporting events (competitions, training courses) or exchanges on sports management infrastructure. This is unheard of in a city that has enjoyed remarkable hobby into cycling."
For IU-Greens, this type of expenditure does not match the reality of cuts in municipal services and to meet the needs serious tourism policy.
It should be remembered closing museums during holidays to discover the illogic of an investment never contrasted with the assumptions that justify reasons.
