The rector of the University of Murcia, José Antonio Cobacho, made an official visit to Mexico to promote and sign cooperation agreements with several universities in this country.
José Antonio Cobacho, accompanied by the Vice Chancellor for Research and Internationalisation, Gaspar Ros, held a meeting with Deputy Secretary of Education, Fernando Serrano, who said Mexico's strategic importance in the process of internationalization of the University of Murcia.
Then Murcia academic authorities met with the CEO of Higher Education for Education Professionals, Alvaro Lopez, to discuss the future of INTERJOM program, which aims to improve the quality of education in the School of Education Hispanic-Mexican.
The University of Murcia hosts every year a growing number of Mexican students who practice in the region and come from places like Ticul, Oaxaca or Coahuila, among others.
In Mexico City, the Chancellor and the Vice Chancellor presented at the National Council of Science and Technology (CONACYT) the outlines of internationalization in research of the educational institution Murcia.
The Internationalization of CONACYT deputy, Luis Mier y Teran said the possibility that Mexican students graduate study at University of Murcia Council grants.
The agenda in Mexico City ended with a meeting with the directors of the College of Mexico, Michoacan, San Luis Potosi and the Autonomous University of Mexico.
Subsequently held various institutional academic events at the Autonomous University of Nuevo León (UANL) and the inauguration of the professors of the University of Murcia Enrique Pastor and Maria Paz García-Longoria as members of the International Association of Physicians in Alternative Methods of Dispute Resolution.
In addition, an agreement was signed between the two institutions for students to PhD programs in Alternative Methods of Dispute Resolution (UANL) and Social Intervention and Mediation (University of Murcia) conduct study and research stays at both universities.
The signing took place at the International Symposium on Alternative Methods for Conflict Resolution (ADR), where Cobacho rector, Professor of Civil Law, gave a lecture on Family Law and ADR.
Similarly, with the faculties of Political Science and Social Work UANL signed letters of intent to promote the exchange of teachers and students with Murcia centers and conduct joint research.
The visit ended in Mexicali (Baja California), where he held various meetings with University officials CETYS (Centre for Technical and Higher Education), entrepreneurship over 50 years old and with the University of Murcia holds partnerships since 1998.
