Murcia has joined Naviki part of the project, the largest network of cycle paths which is spreading across Europe.

The Governing Board has given approval for accession to Naviki project that aims to create a website and a mobile application used to create itineraries for cycling.

So, Murcia will be part of this navigation system across Europe, which can be used both for leisure and for everyday mobility.

The qualities of this system Naviki created by the project are:

- It is simple to use and free

- Locate the user's favorite routes

- Turn your smartphone into a bike sat nav

- Allows the user to share their routes and cycling activities while helping to develop a European network of routes for bicicicleta.

According to the creators of this initiative "probably the most important feature of Naviki is to provide the best cycling routes through simple queries, making it more attractive to use the bike for both daily commutes and for leisure."

A new generation service routes and personal documents are the main features.

To do this, Naviki is available online and through smartphone applications.

Naviki offers the possibility of generating the most suitable cycle routes, and share individual statistics, like biking kilometers and CO2 savings, friends and other cyclists.

For now, is available in Germany, and is now working on its expansion into Denmark, Italy, Spain and the Netherlands.

Naviki Project aims to promote the use of bicycles for both everyday use and for leisure and free time.

Naviki takes as basis the use of bicycles in Murcia and offers greater potential integration of cyclable routes automatically connecting with a browser.

Naviki is funded by the Intelligent Energy Europe program, in this case under the leadership of the city of Vitoria, the current European Green Capital.
