The International Dance Day was established in 1982 on the initiative of the International Dance Committee of the International Theatre Institute.
The date chosen to celebrate this day is April 29 birthday of Jean-Georges Noverre (1727-1810), creator of modern ballet.
Each year International broadcasts a message written by a personality of world-renowned dance.
The aim of this event is to bring the world of dance, rendering it tribute and celebrate its universality, through all the political, cultural and ethnic.
