The new space, called 'The Station', develop citizen participation activities, local development and social integration
ADIF has signed an agreement with the Foundation CEPAIM to convert Beniaján railway station (Murcia) and docks at the new Community Center 'The Station'.
CEPAIM Foundation will use the rail space for community revitalization, citizen participation, social inclusion, coexistence, social inclusion and local development.
The Beniaján passenger building of 235 square meters, is a representative work of railway architecture of early last century, which belonged to the railway company MZA and was intended primarily to carry goods.
Since 2008, the railway station is not serving.
The new space 'The Station' has been launched today with a series of cultural activities, which have attended: José Gabriel Ruiz, general secretary of the Delegation of the Government of Murcia; Salome Adroher, CEO of Family Services and Children of the Ministry of Health, Social Services and Equality, Maria Angeles Palacios, Minister of Health and Social Policy in the Region of Murcia, Carmen Pelegrin Garcia, Councillor for Social Welfare and Health of the City of Murcia, Francisco Selva, manager of Heritage and Urbanism This of ADIF, and Juan Antonio Miralles Ortega, president of the Foundation CEPAIM.
The creators of this project, CEPAIM Foundation not only have been commissioned to rehabilitate and condition the building, but have recovered rail elements in order to conserve rail space marked identity.

ADIF has set seven commitments to meet the challenges of its stakeholders in social responsibility and sustainability.
One of these commitments is to make railway infrastructure and facilities an increasingly more valuable to the public, generating welfare, progress and social cohesion.
It is in this strategic framework in which the project is developed 'The Station'.
CEPAIM Foundation is a Social Organization nonprofit whose mission is to "promote a model of inclusive and intercultural society to provide full access to citizenship rights of the most vulnerable in our society."
As a fundamental part of their work, CEPAIM proposes strategies to revitalize the whole of the social (neighborhood associations, Immigrant Associations, Community Social Services, Health Centres, Colleges, etc..) Present in the area, supporting many initiatives to generated from them.
In response to these objectives, and thanks to all those citizens in their tax return marked the box for other social purposes, it has been implementing the project Community Center "The Station", funded by the Ministry of Health, Social Services and Equality under the notice of the tax allocation of the annuity income tax 2011.
