The University of Murcia has signed a collaboration agreement with Vodafone Spain Foundation, for which you will receive € 21,000, which will go towards the completion of a digital standardization program for students with different types of disabilities.
The project presented by the University of Murcia was selected from a total of 39 proposals submitted by different universities to the monitoring committee of the Vodafone Foundation Spain.
This initiative was chosen, by promoting equal opportunities for people with disabilities during their stay in the University.
Its main objective is to facilitate the digital accessibility for students with disabilities to resources and innovative tools, through the use of tablets and netbooks.
It provides students with specific training on the use of the virtual campus, ICT services within reach and support tools to minimize the effects of disability on academic performance.
At the same time, the project investigates the educational institution Murcia new strategies for students with disabilities use of ICTs available currently exploring possibilities to facilitate handling digital standardization of this group.
Within this line of Murcia University has worked, a pioneer in Spain in the usability of different tablets for different disabilities and, this year, undertake a study of class tracking systems in real time, using tablets to People with severe disabilities.
With the contribution of funds by Vodafone Spain Foundation, is intended to promote the idea of ​​a modern university that promotes a model of innovation and progress, which will allow the University of Murcia be relevant and internationally for excellence in teaching, research and knowledge transfer.
While the perspective deepens accessible campus as a true environment of college life and knowledge ecosystem.
This agreement was made possible by the agreement previously reached between Vodafone Spain Foundation, the Ministry of Education, Culture and Sports and the Foundation for International Relations of the Spanish Universities, in order to boost competitiveness and internationalization of Spanish universities, and is funded exclusively by Vodafone Spain Foundation.
