John Humphreys, a professor at the University of Gloucestershire in the UK, has issued this morning a conference entitled "Organisation of the commonwealth games in Manchester 2002 and Glasgow 2014" organized by Levels of CAFD UCAM and Tourism.
Humphreys spoke about the organization of the Commonwealth Games, a subject of his thesis being made and that is closely related to the area of ​​sports management degree CAFD UCAM.
The speaker pointed out the similarity between the organization of these important games aimed at English-speaking community and the Olympic Games.
The process of choosing the city that will be held include the study of aspects such as the city's sports facilities, medical services, economic and political context, accommodation and transportation or security.
However, it also presents notable differences regarding the organization of the Olympic Games, including the size of the event, with less and less sports disciplines participating countries, so he said, "the management is easier."
