The Mayor, Miguel Ángel Cámara, accompanied by Councilwoman Adela Martinez-Cachá, has joined this morning to commemorate the International Roma Day that took place in the Iron Bridge, organized by FSG.
This is an event organized with the aim of sharing the current situation of this community, spread their main identity as a people and remember the victims of the Nazi Holocaust.
Planned activities to explain the meaning of this event have included the participation of students from school Parra and Barriomar center.
The first showed a mural made by them for the occasion and the latter have been playing a musical performance drawers.
In addition, the Iron Bridge have installed panels explaining the history of the Roma people, from its origins to the present.
The commemorative day is over the interpretation of the gypsy anthem (gelem, gelem) and a wreath into the river Segura.
