IU-Greens today urged the City Council to Murcia as soon as possible to find a solution that would reconcile the interests of residents and businesses around the market village of La Alberca.
The IU-Greens spokesman at City Hall, Esther Herguedas, and the municipal secretary of Organization, Sergio Ramos, have pointed out that the municipality "must activate their mediator to try to resolve the conflicts that have arisen and, in any case, to assert the public interest. "
According to Herguedas, the government team "have to do everything possible to streamline administrative procedures and reach a solution", and shuffling other possibilities for the location of the market, "including reports of other administrations seek to install it in a location more close ".
"Retailers are in a distressing situation in this economic crisis and they can not wait forever while administrative procedures are extended," he assured.
It has also indicated that residents of La Alberca "also demand immediate solutions" because they do not satisfy the proposed location for the City Council, who, he recalled, "has a duty to serve the general interests over individuals."
