The meeting mainly focused on the inner workings of councils, initiatives in the same and in the draft reform of local government, has benefited from the presence of Fernando Llopis, spokesman in the city of Alicante and Marisol Coves, local delegate Under Vinalopó, among other representatives of the formation magenta.
Similarly, Serna has stressed the importance of relations between parties and civil society and transparency that should have, and the need to reform the inner workings of the councils.
After discussion, Ruben Juan Serna, has also referred to the reform of the Basic Law on Local Government, which "as is raised by the Government will mean a loss of autonomy of municipalities for the councils."
"The members of these institutions," said Councilman UPyD Murcia, "not elected by the people", which in his opinion is "inadmissible".
"Must addressed the abolition of county councils and municipalities as a merger took place successfully in Europe in the twentieth century and the restructuring and updating the map of Spanish local authorities, from the parishes of the nineteenth century."
"This does not mean the disappearance of any people but save more than 15,000 million euros and streamline its management" by allowing municipalities with sufficient size to provide quality and sustainable services to citizens.
"The neighbors want their basic services covered, regardless of the size of the municipality or political color."
Also, Councilman UPyD Murcia has referred to the reduction of salaries and councilors under reform.
To Serna, this reduction will result in benefit to the two major parties, having also the regulation of wages provided "a serious mistake" because it does not limit or diets or partial dedications, "so it is not effective."
Finally, the mayor of the formation magenta is convinced that "the future for providing services and viability by local government goes through the merger of municipalities, as called UPyD" and expected to count on future reform "the broadest possible consensus."
