The Socialist Group this morning at a press conference an emergency plan against unemployment in the municipality of Murcia.
The proposal explained this morning by Council Pedro López and Juan Patricio Castro is reserve 5% of the annual budget of the City of Murcia for programs to combat unemployment while the number of unemployed exceeds 5% of the population of the municipality (now the ratio is at 10.4%).
Castro insists that the city of Murcia can not stand idly while unemployment reached and 45,920 people, according to figures collected in February that an increase of 270 new unemployed from the previous month, which is to say that in our town every day 13 people lose their jobs.
While this bleeding continues and worsens with Rajoy government policies, especially with labor reform, the Socialist councilors reported that the City does not address job creation and what should be their top priority.
"Not identified in the Department of Employment, or the Budget a clear program to address the main problem of the citizens," said Juan Patricio Castro.
The goal is that Castro explains in budgets of 2014 and are developed with this approach because it would generate thousand direct jobs.
In addition, the face of this year 2013, the Socialist Group proposes allocating money Contingency Fund (1.5 million euros) to any employment program provided in the budget because we are facing a dramatic situation.
For the Socialist Group, the City has sufficient tools to promote job creation.
Thus, the socialist mayor explains, this new plan would consist of five specific programs: training and qualification of unemployed, research, development and innovation in SMEs, rehabilitation and upgrading of the historical and artistic heritage, as well as neighborhoods degraded road infrastructure and transport, environment and natural spaces.
In fact, with advancing Castro, at the next plenary, the Socialist Group present another specific motion to launch a school workshop in charge of the rehabilitation of the Mill Albatalía Love, which is a significant risk of collapse due to its abandonment.
According to Juan Patricio Castro, this initiative would cost 300,000 euros for this year, would generate about 40 jobs immediately and keep about 15-20 indirect jobs.
