The Unit for Equality between Women and Men of the University of Murcia took part today, March 8, International Women's Day, in reading the manifesto drawn up by the network of university units of gender equality.
The document, signed by 36 units equal Spanish public universities, defends, in the current economic crisis, the need for equality policies in the agendas of universities and other authorities to "eradicate inequalities in within academic institutions themselves. "
Also, "required" for the government to maintain equality policies, because "the promotion of equality from universities involves intangible contributions to social welfare."
With reading the manifesto ending the activities of the Third Week of Equality, organized by the University of Murcia, which has included various presentations and panel discussions.
