The Convention Bureau of the Department of Tourism of the City of Murcia celebrates its fifteenth anniversary with a series of actions to further promote Murcia to host conferences, meetings and conferences.

During the second quarter of the year will take place a day dedicated to the professional sector, which will be attended by renowned national speakers.
For the first time, we have organized a photo competition with the theme 15 years of conferences in Murcia.
In September we held the awards ceremony and the exhibition of the works.
The Councillor for Tourism, Miguel Cascales, stressed the importance of this office for the past 15 years has gone from managing meetings with 54,793 attendees 356 in 1997, to 1113 meetings with 148,797 registered in 2011, that year generated an economic impact of 31 million euros.

The Convention Bureau was established by the City in 1998 with the collaboration of public and private service sector, being one of its primary objectives the promotion of Murcia to host congresses, conventions and incentives.

This partnership has grown from 35 members at its inception, to over 70 today.
Its main functions include the coordination of supply and demand for city services, development of specific technical dossier, organizing reconnaissance visits to the municipality, management discounts for Congress in transportation, institutional and technical support to the Event organizers, management of promotional materials and general information about Murcia, dissemination activities and presenting media of events in other cities.
