The Catholic University of Murcia (UCAM) closed today the First Conference of Sport Psychology, which were held under the theme 'A commitment to excellence of the young athlete. "
In the closing ceremony of the highest authorities intervened academic, including the rector, Josefina Garcia Lozano, the Dean of the Faculty of Physical Activity and Sport, Pato Antonio Sanchez, the vice dean of Psychology, Francisco José Moya, and associate dean of the degree in Early Childhood and Primary Education, Maria del Mar Pintado.
It should be noted by experts from Catholic as the Director of Sports, Paul Rosique; UCAM Basketball coach, Oscar Quintana, and the player of that team, Berni Rodriguez.
It has also had the participation of Professor at the Faculty of Sport Sciences, University of Extremadura, Tomas Garcia, and the national coordinator of the Division of Psychology of Physical Activity and Sport, Enrique Canton.
UCAM Basketball coach, Oscar Quintana, said that "intrinsic motivation in the players is important, but not only in sport but in life in general."
It has also stressed that "athletes should be their own motivators."
During this final day there were several different presentations, communications and related roundtables, among other things, with group processes and their relationship to athletic performance, the social aspects of sport and motivational aspects to the work of coaches in the initiation sport.
