The partnership has brought together nearly 175 people in a day of celebration with food and leisure activities

The Association for Persons with Down Syndrome, ASSIDO, FEAPS member Murcia, celebrates the tenth anniversary of its Occupational Center situated in the hamlet of Casillas Murcia.

For that, there has gathered nearly 175 people in a day full of fun activities and culminates with a massive meal.

The Occupational Center hosts workshops ASSIDO occupational job training, employment services, the dance company of the association and the Family Support Service, among others.

For its facilities have been 125 families since it opened its doors in 2003 with the collaboration of the Autonomous Community, Fundación ONCE and CAM.

Today also returned to the center many professionals who passed through it from the beginning and whose effort was instrumental in starting it.

Today, almost a hundred people with Down syndrome and other intellectual disabilities and their families receive at this center supports and services of 35 professionals who develop their work there.

Besides this Occupational Center, ASSIDO manages two houses and one center located in the center of Murcia, which houses many props.

ASSIDO born in 1981 from the union of a few parents of people with Down syndrome in Murcia came together to get the services and supports that their children needed.

Over time, they have grown up together more than 350 families and their needs have evolved both by the age of its members and for its social achievements.

What I remains unchanged is the common goal: improving the quality of life of their brothers, children, and family with Down syndrome and other intellectual disabilities.

Furthermore, ASSIDO is one of 26 institutions that make up the Federation of Intellectual Disability and Cerebral Palsy of the Region of Murcia.

FEAPS drives his work in improving the quality of life of these people and those around them.
