The University of Murcia has won two awards convened by the Ministry of the Presidency of the Autonomous Region in paths performances in defense and promotion of the environment and sustainable development.

One of these awards is that for corporate communication efforts in carbon accounting, achieved by the implementation of a project to calculate the carbon footprint aimed to know the total amount of CO2 and other greenhouse emissions.

He has also won the award for corporate social responsibility, in this case, by the activities carried out under the Sustainable Campus, "very significant strides in renewable energy, conservation and efficiency."

The jury also highlights, in assessing this second distinction, that the consequence of the award has also contributed "the management of the waste generated at the University, the savings in water consumption, enhanced routing and management of biodiversity on college campuses. "
