The Councillor for Sports, Youth and Tourism, Miguel Cascales, has signed an agreement with Vice-President of the Society for the Promotion of Joint Tourism Valladolid SL and Councillor for Culture, Commerce and Tourism of the City of Valladolid, Mercedes Cantalapiedra, to promote Murcia and cities of Valladolid and congresses.
The main objective is to increase business opportunities, exchange experiences and information, jointly offer the proposed services and offerings in both territories and encourage alternation between Murcia and Valladolid in congresses, events and meetings.
The agreement was signed in the framework of the International Tourism Fair of Madrid, FITUR, which runs through the 3rd of February in Madrid.
Miguel Cascales explained that Valladolid has been chosen for this initiative because the characteristics of the city are similar to those of Murcia, by the good relationship with the city of Murcia Valladolid, and because usually when organizers seek congresses you have alternating north / south in the host cities.
This project is driven by the Convention Bureau of the City of Murcia, who has worked more than a decade to get the city is positioned among the top of Spain within the MICE tourism.
Murcia and Valladolid have extensive experience and broad knowledge of the meetings industry, represent different but complementary areas in your offer and are able to provide a very interesting alternative to the rotation of meetings.
In addition, commercial approaches and methodologies share similar work.
The two cities will jointly offer their services and offers proposed, given the need and interest of the event organizers to seek new destinations with original bids.
Also, it will provide event organizers destination offering other complementary and there shall be a smooth exchange of information.
The agreement will run until January 2017.
This action is part of Murcia Tourism Promotion Plan 365 which aims to improve tourism in the city and attract visitors all year round.
