Eight students from the municipality have received this morning from the Mayor of prizes that have been awarded the work to be entered in the contest of School Day of Non-Violence and Peace.
The event, which convenes in painting and writing arrangements and this year reaches its second edition, is promoted by the City, through the Department of Equality Policies and Development Cooperation, headed Alicia Barquero.
Also attended the event the Councillor for Education, Lola Sanchez and Commercial Director Cajamar in Murcia, José Joaquín Martínez.
The School Day of Peace and Nonviolence is commemorated since 1964 on the initiative of the poet and pacifist Mallorcan Llorenç Vidal Vidal and coincides with the anniversary of Gandhi's death.
The objective of this initiative is to encourage the creation and artistic expression and to bring smaller values ​​education, while intended to sensitize educators and students about values ​​of nonviolence, peace, tolerance and respect human rights.
The theme of the drafting-open to students in the 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th grade-involved a "Wheel of peace" as a strategy for resolving conflict and the authors should specify six agreements, ways or strategies they would use to make a good living at school.
Were awarded a prize for 1st category for best writing, story or poetry chosen from levels 3 and 4 and a 2nd category for best writing, story or poetry chosen from levels 5 and 6.
Moreover, the drawing contest invited to recreate an ideal world under the slogan 'All are needed', this painting for the elements considered necessary to achieve an ideal world.
Three prizes were awarded for the best drawings in 1st and 2nd, 3rd and 4th, and one in 5th and 6th.
400 papers were presented by the students of the colleges Jesus and Mary (Alfonso X), CEIP Our Lady of Cortes (Nonduermas) and CEIP José Rubio Gomariz (Cabezo de Torres).
The awards, sponsored by the Foundation consist Cajamar-school supplies for the school, including several cases of colors, markers, crayons, drawing sheets and pens, as well as framing the work of each award.
