Murcia City Council participates with its own stand at the XXXIII International Tourism Fair (FITUR) which opened today and is being held until February 3 February in Madrid.
It is the first time that Murcia has its own stand, a space of 32 square meters next to the Region of Murcia, which will serve to hold meetings with professionals and provide information on Murcia as a tourist destination and congresses.
Promote the tourism image of Murcia and maintain contacts with tour operators, hotel chains and passenger transport companies are the main objectives which go to the fair Murcia.
In addition to meetings with professionals, the stand has a general tourist information area in which distributed 1,500 kilos of material and brochures.
The Murcia Tourism booth is dominated by the image of the cathedral, next to which is other identifying elements of modern architecture, such as the works of Rafael Moneo and Santiago Calatrava.
The City will use its presence at FITUR, next to the Convention Bureau to maintain several working meetings to strengthen the promotion of tourism in the municipality with industry professionals, both congresses offices such as tour operators, both traditional and online, and companies tourist transport.
There will also be contact with representatives of the national tourism sector, especially the big chains in the country, and all major passenger airlines, Iberia and Renfe.
The aim of Murcia in the fair is to promote the tourism image of the city, both among professionals who are dedicated, fair-Wednesday-Friday and between visitors, who can access the weekend.
The City "sell" the great attractions of the municipality, based on its culture, his art, monuments and exhibitions, its cuisine and climate, its natural to discover the landscape of the garden and districts, and extensive recreational proposal congresses.
Also, the card will be promoted Murcia Tourist Card, a tool that allows visitors to benefit from tickets in museums and buildings of interest discount and many leisure facilities, hotels and shops.
As is tradition, there will be a draw for six weekends for two, to see the city.
This initiative is part of the special plan assistance to tourism fairs to promote Murcia as a tourist destination.
Murcia Tourist Beside, the municipality will be present at the Tourism Fair in Madrid, London, Berlin, Barcelona and provides for the possibility of new markets such as Russia and China.
