More than 250 artists from 42 countries attend the International Sculpture contest Public Murcia Futuro Foundation (17/01/2013)

Murcia Futuro Foundation (FMF) and the city of Murcia, in collaboration with the Foundation convened Gabarrón before summer last year the International Sculpture Competition future Levante Park Murcia organized by the Future Foundation and who have attended 253 artists 42 different nationalities.

Yesterday the jury met, internationally recognized, consisting of Barañano Kosme (Director of the Department of Methodology of the History of Art and Sculpture, Faculty of Fine Arts in Altea at the University Miguel Hernández de Elche), Yves Dana (artist), FCG (artist), Petra Joos (Director of the Department of Museum Activities Guggenheim Museum Bilbao), John Keenen (architect drafter Park Master Plan Levante Murcia), Terry Riley (Editor architect Master Levante Park Plan of Murcia) and Joel Shapiro (artist), to select the 50 best entries will be participating in an exhibition in Spain and the U.S..

Also award a first prize whose allocation is € 24,000, a second prize of € 10,000, € 5,000 a third and two second prizes each worth € 3,000.

The contest is aimed at selecting five unpublished and original sculptural proposals for the future park location in the city of Murcia.

This groups or individual artists who have submitted to the contest have had to register, write a report explaining and send a demo of his work.

The piece presented can be on any subject, but have special meaning those that show a link with the history and culture of Murcia, from the historical perspective and from the concept and philosophy of art, design and environment, which articulates the new park .

Furthermore, it may use for the design and execution of the monument techniques and materials that are considered most suitable to your requirements expressive, provided that they are resistant to the action of atmospheric agents to ensure durability of the monument.

The sculpture will be free and because their destination is an open space, the jury will consider the proportional relationship of their actions with the environment.
