The Socialist Group began a series of meetings with trade associations and city districts (11/12/2012)

The socialist mayor Juan Patricio Castro returns to show his concern for the coming plummeting experiencing small businesses in the municipality of Murcia.

"Every day there are more closures of local businesses that are transferred and the progressive deterioration of the traditional trade is difficult to produce a minimal economic recovery," said Castro.

The Socialist Group in line with the campaign launched by the PSRM support to small businesses, has begun a series of meetings with trade associations and districts of the city to gather first-hand information and diverse views on the situation that is after passing the sector to provide solutions.

A very disturbing reality

In this sense, the PSOE councilor recalls the fall from 12.7% of sales taking place in the region, the highest in the country, a disturbing reality that, according to Castro, is a product of misguided policy practiced what over the years by the PP in their unbridled support for large shopping centers and lack of concern for traditional commerce.

"An economic model and Murcia city emptied of leisure and free time, which added to the crisis, the small business has led to an unsustainable situation with his plummeting and permanent loss of jobs" regrets the socialist mayor, who explains that after this campaign traders proximity to the city and districts, the Socialist Group will develop an emergency plan to be submitted to the local government to reverse this situation.

"We hope that this time the PP city showing more sensitivity, put to work and try to correct the mistakes of the past by favoring exclusively to the malls," Castro ends.
